Avengers Infinity War Non-Spoiler Review

   Movie Summary

We are now 19 movies into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the ultimate culmination movie of Avengers Infinity War.  Nearly ten years ago Iron Man premiered and who could have foreseen that we would be where we are today.  This film picks up right after the events of the most recent Marvel flicks.  Ever since his tease in the first Avengers movie, Thanos has popped up at various times throughout the franchise.  He takes center stage in this epic, and it becomes more his movie than anyone else's.

MPAA Rating/Content

Infinity War is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, language, and some crude references.  This is a much more serious Marvel movie and doesn't have as much of the funny banter, and lightheartedness that you will find in the others.  I would recommend caution on kids younger than 10 viewing this movie.

 My Rating: 9/10

I have to admit this one took some time to digest.  When I screened it in the theater it was just dead silent at the end.  There is a lot to process.  I don't think I caught on to Thanos' primary intention in the trailers, but now going back and watching them having seen the film it actually reveals quite a lot about the movie.  There really isn't too much hidden in the marketing like you would expect with something of this caliber.

I was surprised to see some Avengers missing from the movie, but I expect they will appear in the 4th film.  I was expecting a different outcome than what we got.  I am perfectly fine with how it ends because now we get to speculate all year about what just happened.  As mentioned above this is Thanos' movie, plain and simple.  This is the biggest lead role any villain has had in the MCU to date.  What makes a good villain is not someone who is pure evil, but someone who genuinely thinks what they are doing is the right thing.  This certainly delivers on that point.

For those who haven't caught on to Marvel post credit scenes there is 1 post credit scene at the very end to be aware of.  This one doesn't stick to it's 2 or 3 scenes during the credits formula, but you will see why.

Have you seen it?  What did you think?  Be sure to let me know in the comments and share this review with your friends.  Also if you live in the Magic Valley be sure to see it at Magic Valley Cinema 13!
