Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania Review

         Movie Summary

The third entry in the Ant-Man films and the 31st MCU film altogether.  WOW!  Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania sees Scott Lang and crew in a post Endgame peace, but that peace does not last long.  After tampering with something they don't fully understand they are quickly sucked into the Quantum Realm where new challenges and more importantly a new evil lies in waiting.

MPA Rating/Content

Like all MCU films before it this film is rated PG-13.  More specifically for "violence/action and language."  At this point if you've seen an MCU film you generally know what to expect and what ages it is right for.  There were a fair share more of "dick" jokes in this movie than I have seen before, but nothing too concerning.

 My Rating: 7/10

Unfortunately this film doesn't quite top the previous 2 installments in my opinion.  While I really enjoyed the second half of the film the first half was a different story.  When they first enter the Quantum Realm, it felt very fake to me.  It obviously is indeed fake, but some of the effects just didn't feel right to me.  Especially after just experiencing Avatar: The Way of Water where everything is practically CGI, but you can't tell most of the time.  In this case though you really noticed it.

That being said when Kang finally comes into the picture things drastically improve. Your focus switches to his backstory and you are eager to learn more about this next "Thanos Level" threat to the Avengers.  As we know the next Avengers film is titled "The Kang Dynasty" so it is no secret we haven't seen the last of Kang.  Kang is not the only villain introduced in this film, but fan favorite M.O.D.O.K. also makes his live action debut.  I will not spoil who M.O.D.O.K turns out to be, but I really felt this villain was a waste and unnecessary.  M.O.D.O.K is a weird looking character to begin with and I understand that, but I think some characters just don't translate to on screen like others.

Have you seen it?  Do you plan to see it?  What are your thoughts?
