Disaster Artist Review

   Movie Summary

This film tells the story of the making of The Room, which is considered by many to be the best worst film ever made.  It is also based more directly on the book of the same name that gives a look into the behind the scenes chaos that occurred while making this movie.

MPAA Rating/Content

Disaster Artist is rated R for language throughout, some sexuality/nudity.  The nudity and sexual content is pretty much condensed to one scene.  If you have seen the red band trailer for this it shows part of what this entails.  It is still fairly mild and is used in a comedic way.

   My Rating: 9.5/10

*What I Liked

At it's heart this movie is really about friendship and chasing your dreams.  It's just maybe not the best way to go about those things.  It does however make for a hilarious non-stop adventure through the lives of these unique people.  At times it can be discouraging, but also inspiring when you realize that even though the end outcome isn't what you expected it can still be a great thing.  They did an excellent job of making shot for shot remakes of actual scenes in the film.  It's really hard to believe that some of these things happened, and how someone could possibly think certain ways.

*What I didn't Like

It's very hard to come up with negatives for this movie.  It will be ranked very high on my Top 10 films of the year list.  I am honestly blanking on this.  The only real criticism, which I've said on other movies as well, is that a large amount of the funny parts were in the trailers.  You can expect several things to happen, and there aren't a ton of surprises.  That being said it is still hilarious to watch over and over.
