Logan Lucky Review

Movie Introduction

Logan Lucky is a story about a group of lower-class individuals who decide to rob a NASCAR speedway.  This is directed by the same guy who did the Ocean's movies so you know that you are in good hands in terms of the heist element.  The comedy in this though is by far the standout.  Besides Channing Tatum a lot of these actors aren't typically seen in roles like this, and boy do they all have their comedic moment(s).

MPAA Rating/Content

This film is rated PG-13 for language and some crude comments.  There wasn't really much foul language that comes to mind and no sexual references other than Daniel Craig mentioning that he is undressing in the back seat of a car, and hinting that he wants one of the female actors to look at him.  This does in a way poke fun at Southerners, and I suppose it is possible that someone from that area of the U.S. may find some material offensive.

My Rating: 8.5/10

This movie was hysterical.  It was all humor where the characters definitely weren't trying to be funny, but their natural personalities just brought it out organically.  The fact that most of these actors aren't know for comedy they really shined in this and proved that they have the chops to do so.  This isn't a straight up comedy either it's almost more of a satire of the heist genre.  You wouldn't expect these type of people to be pulling off something this impressive. The writing is very well done, and just like the Ocean's movies it has a bit of a twist ending.  Game of Thrones fans will also get a kick out of one of the scenes in this.
